3. Pink Sands Beach, Harbor Island, Bahamas

Pink Sands beach Harbor Island Bahamas

Pink Sand Beach in the Bahamas

The stunning Pink Sand Beach on Harbor Island's east coast is the reason for the island's well-known reputation. It is 3 miles of pink sand. Yes, actually pink sand. This beach was featured on Travel Channel's World's Top Beaches segment and awarded the title "Best Sand Beach" in March 2005 among 10 international beaches.

Due to small coral insects called “foraminifera”, which have shells that are brilliant pink or red, the sand has a rose-pink hue. Foraminifera can be found in caves, on the sea bottom, behind rocks, and on the underside of neighboring reefs like the Devil's Backbone.

The sea wave movement shatters the coral insect carcasses into tiny pieces, which are subsequently washed ashore and mixed with sand fragments. When the sand is wet and along the water's edge, the pink hue is most apparent.

This beach is perfect for long barefoot walks during the day as its sand is much cooler than regular sand. Numerous resorts on Harbor Island provide total relaxation on Pink Sands Beach which is easily the best and most unique beach in the Caribbean and the world.

grace bay Visit Turks & Caicos

Book a 4 hour catamaran tour of Grace Bay.

It is so beautiful, you will think that you were walking into a postcard. Grace Bay, on the island of Providenciales, is one of the main attractions of the island of Turk & Caicos. Grace Bay is perfect and gorgeous throughout, with clear turquoise water and soft, white sand.

There are no rocks, seaweed, or pollution on this beach thanks to the barrier reef a mile away which shields Grace Bay from the Atlantic's surges, keeping the water at the beach calm, secure, and ecotourism friendly.

Nearly all Providenciales' large, luxurious resorts are located around “Grace Bay Beach”. The shallow seas between the beach and barrier reef are where most of the island's boating and water sport activity takes place. Grace Bay offers glorious sunsets in the evening and picture-perfect moments for vacations.

Grace Bay is currently ranked as the second-best beach in the world by Trip Advisor and the world's leading beach destination by “World Travel Awards”. Grace Bay has finished first or second in these two contests nineteen times over the preceding ten years. This beach is unarguably the best beach in the Caribbean.
